I am Nazanin, a girl whose hands are always covered in colors. For me, illustration and painting go beyond paper and cardboard; they are a way of life.
To create my images, I embrace adventure and have a deep passion for discovering different techniques and methods. I have had the privilege of working on ten books, some of which have been published internationally in Spanish, Turkish and Russian. I was also selected as Iran’s illustrator for the IBBY Honor List for the International Board on Books for Young People in 2018.
In some of my books, I ventured into three-dimensional space and created 3D environments using materials like metal, paper, and wood. In this process, I also incorporated photography and lighting. In one of my books, I built scenes by using discarded metal, and in another, I crafted an entirely illustrated book based on the concept of origami and paper. Needless to say, creating such works requires collaboration with specialized individuals and a professional team.
Additionally, in the books where I worked with paintings, I employed various techniques. I have extensive experience in painting on wood, cardboard, and creating collages of images.
Now that I have immigrated to America, I am currently exploring the digital space and creating works through digital painting.
I am deeply interested in nature, particularly birds and plants, and I believe that children should become familiar with their Environmental protection. For this reason, I am very inspired by nature and use natural elements in my illustrations.
