This book tells one of the famous stories from the Shahnameh, written by the great Persian poet,Ferdowsi.
Zahhak was an unworthy and sinful ruler. One day, Ahriman (the devil) disguised as a chef went to his palace. Zahhak fell for Ahriman’s deceit, and two snakes grew on his shoulders, which could only be fed by the flesh of innocent young people. His cruelty and oppression lasted for many years until one day, Fereydun, a righteous young man of Iran, grew up and, with the help of Kaveh the blacksmith, fought against Zahhak and chained him in Mount Damavand.
